These two lovely ladies were referred to me by one of my NYC friends. When Nicole & Elise arrived at my studio the whole place lit up! They were so fun to have in front of my camera and they kept me laughing with silly stories and jokes all through the shoot. Thank you girls for coming by! I’m excited for all the fun shows you’ll be a part of in the next few months!

Portraits: Laura & Mike

When Laura first called me and we shared a 5 minute phone call I immediately knew our shoot was going to be fun. We hit it off right away and our ideas for their shoot were melding together so well.

I was invited down to their home in Castle Rock in the late afternoon a couple weeks ago. Laura greeted me at the door and said “First things first…do you want Red or White?” Ha! It was so nice to sit and chat with the two of them while we each tasted our delicious glasses of wine. They gave me a tour of their GORGEOUS home & beautifully landscaped backyard. It was an ideal setting for their portraits. I feel so lucky to have been able to spend this time with Laura, Mike & their puppies capturing some intimate images for them – thank you Laura & Mike!

Scrapes, scratches & cuts are a special part of Laura & Mike’s relationship – hence this photo showing off Laura’s beaten up leg . They are both adventurous Coloradans and when they first met Laura had just endured a weekend of outdoor beating up. When Mike saw all her battle wounds he was instantly in love So when Laura had a biking mishap a couple days before our shoot, instead of thinking “Oh No! These scrapes will be in the photos” she thought “Yes! Now I have scrapes to show off in our photos!”Their sweet doggie Tupelo. Named after the Van Morrison song!

Last week Katie came to the studio to have her new headshots taken before she moved to the windy city. She’s there right now & I can’t wait to hear how she blows all the Chicago Casting Agents away with her new headshots & amazing personality. It was completely natural when Katie was in front of my camera – my job was easy that day Good luck with everything in Chicago Katie!

Maternity Portraits: Lulu

This is Lulu with a baby in her belly. Lulu & I grew up together starting in middle school when I played the Mad Hatter & she played Tweedle Dum in our production of Alice in Wonderland. It’s so crazy for me to comprehend that she is about to have her first baby. Weren’t we just having sleepovers & complaining about math homework?

I am so excited to be an auntie to this little angel when she arrives in a couple months. I love you Lulu!

I guess this little guy could be considered Lulu’s first baby…Tabor is very excited to meet the new addition to the family!

Family Portraits with Tinkerbell

Last Saturday I met this fun family in the early morning at Cheesman Park. Hester had emailed to let me know her dog would accompany us on our shoot but when I saw this big, beautiful Neapolitan Mastiff walking up with her two smiley owners my excitement escalated! This gentle giant was an absolute angel during out shoot. She consistently make us giggle and even grabbed the attention of a local news caster – they were filming their morning newscast from the Cheesman Park Pavilions and Tinkerbell was an impromptu addition to their story! Thank you Parrot family for starting my Saturday off so well!

The Neidetcher Family visited my studio a few months ago when Courtney was just a couple months away from giving birth to this darling little man. Well, Courtney’s family was in town from Louisiana last week and she contacted me to capture some photos of all her fun family members while they were in town. I felt so flattered that Courtney thought of me and I was so excited to spend an afternoon with them again. Of course, Rider was so full of energy and very happy about his new little brother. I’m looking forward to shooting family portraits for the Neidetchers throughout the years and seeing these little guys grow!

Little Miss Moira (with the beautiful strawberry blond hair) let me know at the beginning of our shoot that she has been watching America’s Next Top Model and was ready to pose for my camera This little lady knew her stuff! her baby sister must have been watching along with Moira because she did a great job of giving me an engaging & contemplative glance. I love working with professionals.

And this is Mary. She and I became close while I lived in NYC - we lived just a few blocks from eachother. Mary’s family lives in Colorado and they wanted to capture some great shots of Mary’s nieces & all the Kelley ladies while everyone was in town. Now that Mary & her fiance moved back to Colorado, Mary & I get to play again

When I first met Cassie she was 2 months away from bringing little man Knox into this world. I was so excited to meet him last week when he and his family came to the studio. Our chore for the shoot was to make Knox smile for the camera but he was much more interested in playing with his new found toy…his tongue!

Engagement Portraits: Dwane & Kristen

So the “how we met” story goes like this:
On a Sunday evening a couple years ago Kristen was sitting at her local pub, The Irish Snug, watching the game waiting for her friend to show up. At the same moment, Dwane and his buddies came to The Snug after their afternoon rec game…Dwane’s favorite bartender played matchmaker that night and let the boys know about the cute girl sitting alone on the other side of the wall…I asked Dwane what his pick up line was…he said “Hello” After 15 minutes of great conversation between the new love birds, Dwane’s buddies left the two alone for the first night of their sweet relationship. When I heard this story I immediately told them that we HAVE to shoot at the Snug! I arrived on Saturday and the two of them were sitting in the exact chairs that they had met in

**FAST FORWARD TWO WEEKS**

At our last shoot, Dwane, Kristen & I were rained out after only 20 minutes of shooting. So while the rain poured outside we enjoyed a beer and some quality time talking about the upcoming wedding! We also made a date to continue our shoot…Fast forward to two weeks later…in the early evening, Kristin & Dwane came to the studio. The first order of business was talking about how addicting Words with Friends on our iPhones can be. In fact, I just interrupted writing this blog post to play a word with Kristin! HA!

Okay, back to photo talk. It was a beautiful evening and the studio backyard was the perfect setting for round II of their engagement portraits. We topped our night off with a pizza and some beer across the street at The Walnut Room – of course!
